On September 27th, we’re happy to once again offer two Handpan workshops at our partner Thomann – and you’re all warmly invited!
In this two-hour course, you’ll receive an introduction to this beautiful instrument and learn the basic playing techniques. Together with our Sela instructor Tobias Myrzik, you’ll explore:
– Rhythmic warm-up
– Basic and advanced striking techniques
– Explanation to the sound characteristics of our Sela handpans
– Simple melodies, dyads, chords, and first arpeggios
– Applying all learned techniques in polyphonic group play
– Tips on improvisation – and much more!
Tobias has been an active handpan player and workshop leader since 2009. He has inspired over 800 workshop participants and 2,500 concert attendees across Germany. His workshops combine musical depth with hands-on teaching. His concerts and sound journeys are carefully staged, using professional equipment like ambient lighting and immersive sound design to create a unique atmosphere.
