This íon is a tribute to the Peruvian origins of the cajón, which originated when inverted wooden boxes and containers were used to imitate drums. It is made of natural birch wood, which allows the Peruvian íon to be optimally matched with the front plate of your cajón to ensure a harmonious sound.
The Peruvian íon produces an impressively clear ‘pop’ when struck. It is extremely sensitive and responds excellently to even the lightest of touches. Remember that this íon is the most sensitive in our range, and even light contact is enough to produce exceptional sound quality. Excessive force is not recommended.

– Installation is simple: using the Allen key supplied with the Iconic Cajon (usually found on the bottom edge of the sound hole), loosen the 8 screws and insert the íon accordingly. Then tighten the screws again.
The skin tension and thus the sound of the íon can be influenced. The tuning of the íon changes depending on how tightly the screws are tightened. Experiment with a quarter to half a turn per screw to see how the sound changes until you like it. Make sure that the íon is not too loose.
