What truly makes the cajon unique is its adaptability to individual needs. From the thickness and appearance of the playing surface to the snare sound, everything can be adjusted with a simple modification. The SELA sound can always be precisely what you specifically require. That's why my journey led me back to my very first cajon (SELA kit) from various other instruments.

Sebastian Römer is a musician and teacher for drums and percussion from Düren near Cologne. His musical education began at the age of six at the municipal music school in his hometown. He started with trumpet and piano before adding classical percussion and drum set in 2002.

Over the years, percussion became his primary instrument, and he was active in various musical styles. He played not only as a drummer and percussionist in various orchestras, big bands, and percussion ensembles but also participated in rock, metal, soul, and blues bands. Additionally, he regularly worked as a session drummer for various studio projects and participated in jam sessions of different styles.

In 2018, he became a permanent member as a cajon player in the medieval and folk band “Kupfergold,” which has since become the main focus of his musical work. With this band, he has recorded three albums to date and regularly performs shows throughout Germany and neighboring countries.

In 2023, music became his main profession when he added independent work as a teacher for drum set and percussion to his studio and live activities. In this capacity, he teaches students of all age groups either online or in in-person lessons.
